Patty Brisben
CEO / Founder / Intimacy Expert

For more than two decades, Patty Brisben has been educating and empowering women all over the country about sexual health and relationship enhancement. A leader in the field of women’s sexual health, Patty began working with women in 1983 to provide advice on safe sexual practices and how to become more intimate with their partners as a sales consultant for a direct sales company selling bedroom toys. Her experience there and passion to educate women to take control of their relationships and sex lives led to the development of Pure Romance. Pure Romance is the nation’s fastest-growing in-home direct sales company specializing in intimacy education and relationship enhancement products, and is designed to help women live fuller, healthier, more satisfying lives.

To establish her own company, Patty drew from both her personal and professional experience. “When I started selling relationship enhancement products, I read every single book I could find about women, their bodies and relationships,” she explains. Researching the benefits of healthy relationships, Patty discovered that sexuality not only offers obvious physical benefits, but can also contribute to the overall well-being of the individual and their relationship.

In 2007, after running the company in conjunction with her son over the last several years, Patty elected to step back from her role as corporate leader to focus on her philanthropic initiatives, including The Patty Brisben Foundation, and Pure Romance’s cancer support program, Sensuality, Sexuality and Survival, and other socially conscious endeavors.

To that end, Patty currently speaks as part of a national college tour called “The Naked Truth” comprising several university sexual health curriculums throughout the United States. Patty's goal is to educate college campuses on safe sex, sexual health, and relationship maintenance, along with helping them to discover a comfortable place to explore their sexuality. To date, the college tour has participated in sexual health curriculums at a wide range of colleges and universities including Indiana University, Purdue University, Ohio State University, University of Kentucky and Sex Week at Yale University.

Patty has also taken several proactive steps to raise the level of education for medical practitioners and cancer survivors. Her efforts on this front include a cancer program (Sensuality, Sexuality, Survival) and collaborative research studies with the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at Indiana University. Patty’s mission through the SSS program is to help women recapture their sensual and sexual selves through education, empowerment and product offerings designed specifically for women following cancer diagnosis or treatment. Finally, Patty created a non-profit organization called The Patty Brisben Foundation which contributes funds to various charitable causes and supports ongoing breast cancer and sexual health research.

Today, Patty speaks, lectures, and writes about a wide range of issues such as boosting sexual confidence, discovering self-empowerment through sexual awareness, and learning how to put a spark back into lifeless relationships. Drawing from extensive research in the industry and using her warm and engaging personality, Patty has become a noted expert in the fields of intimacy and relationships. Her work has put her in the national spotlight, with appearances on CNN, Vh1 and numerous profiles in leading business publications, including Forbes and Entrepreneur. In addition, Patty has also continued her commitment to educate through authoring her first book, Pure Romance Between the Sheets. It serves as an invaluable resource regarding sexuality, relationships and overall sexual health and further expands on the Pure Romance mission to provide a comfortable environment for women to explore sexuality.

Over 30,000 Pure Romance Consultants in every state are trained by Patty through the Pure Romance Health Education Department, which prides itself on working with leaders in the areas of sexual education and health. The consultants learn the latest information and skills necessary to educate the 1.2 million women across the country touched by Pure Romance parties each year.

Chris Cicchinelli
President

Chris Cicchinelli is the President of Pure Romance, the nation’s fastest-growing woman-to-woman in-home direct sales company specializing in relationship enhancement products and intimacy education. Since starting at Pure Romance eight years ago, Chris has been instrumental in growing the small business into an $80 million corporation and the leader in its category. His responsibilities range from helping to design and implement all marketing and communications strategies, to product development, to assisting with the development of the corporate training program that all Pure Romance Consultants must complete. Chris’ work for the company takes him from public figurehead to internal inspiration, as he helps to develop not just the business, but the heart of the organization – Pure Romance’s 30,000-plus Consultants nationwide.

While visiting family during a 3-month sabbatical in 1999, his mother asked Chris to help restructure the company she’d started out of her home in 1993, Pure Romance, to increase revenue and market share. After leading a number of successful short-term initiatives, Chris came aboard Pure Romance full-time as an Executive Vice President.

Since his arrival in 2000 the company has grown exponentially, from a mid-sized family operation into a multi-million dollar corporation. With Chris as a senior executive, the company increased sales more than 700 percent in one year to reach $8 million in 2001. By 2003 sales increased more than 1600 percent to $30 million. In August of 2005, Chris became the first male president in this industry, overseeing the marketing, finance and day-to-day activities of Pure Romance. Under Chris’ authority, 2007 sales exceeded $80 million.

Chris attended Mount Union College with a focus in business and marketing. Directly out of college, Chris began his career specializing in marketing and finance with the Maxium Group, a billion dollar franchising company. He began working with the company in 1998 in Atlanta and in the first six months was promoted to assistant district manager and moved to the company’s $28 million region in Chicago. At the end of 1998, Chris moved back to Atlanta to run the new division of Maxium group, EverythingDecor.com. The website began with 10 employees and with Chris at the helm, the business quickly grew to over 62 employees; showcasing his superior management techniques.
